Acetylene Fill Technology
Western International’s patented acetylene fill and supply systems are dramatically different from conventional ones. Specially designed by our development team, Western’s acetylene technology allows for the highest practical reliability and fill efficiency at the lowest possible production costs.
Western’s advanced systems speed up production and focus on creating an end product of the utmost quality. Technology enables a single Western plant the capability to output 4,000 cylinders of acetylene each day. A patented fill process enables short turnaround of large numbers of cylinders and typically fills cylinders in 4-6 hours.
Western’s systems employ automated, proprietary processes that enhance user safety and efficiency. Repetitive tasks, traditionally performed by a manual operator, are completed by computer-driven machinery, effectively reducing labor expenses. Process controls and advanced safety features are also used by Western to mitigate hazardous working conditions.

Technology to Enhance Safety
Western invests significant time and resources into devices designed to better protect life and property. One example of the ways in which Western’s technology has improved safety is through the use of “intelligent” alarms.
A typical “non-intelligent” alarm indicates when there is low oil pressure on a compressor. This is problematic because low oil pressure is only an issue when the compressor is running. When the compressor stops, oil pressure should be low—if it is not, this could be a sign of a false indication.
Western’s “intelligent” alarm/shutdown provides more advanced protection. The customized alarm system is programmed to indicate low oil pressure only when the compressor is running. The program is also designed to examine oil pressure when the compressor is off, determining whether or not the oil pressure is appropriately low.
Without intelligent alarms, operators forced to manually examine thousands of alarm points can quickly become overwhelmed with incoming data and could potentially overlook critical information.
Through customized “intelligent” alarms and computer-driven systems, Western takes the ultimate precautions to ensure safety. Please contact us to learn more about our safety first policy and newest safety measures.
